How we handle your personal data — plainly, and in line with UK GDPR.

Who we are. Design Studio Lab Ltd ("we", "us") is registered in England & Wales, company number 11222280, registered office 2 Damara Way, Kingsnorth, Ashford, Kent TN25 7FD. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact: bala@designstudiolab.co.uk.

What we collect and why

  • Contact and card-exchange forms — your name, email address, company (optional), phone (optional) and message, together with the IP address the request came from (used solely for spam and abuse prevention). We use this to reply to your enquiry and, where a conversation continues, to manage our working relationship. Legal basis: legitimate interests (responding to enquiries you initiate).
  • Session cookie — a single, strictly-necessary session cookie protects our forms against cross-site request forgery. It contains no tracking data and expires when you close your browser. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
  • Server and security logs — our hosting and security providers process IP addresses and request data to deliver the site and protect it from attack.

Where your data lives

Form submissions are stored in our database and emailed to us so nothing is lost. Our website is served through Cloudflare (security and performance) and hosted with our hosting provider in the EU/UK. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads. We do not sell or share your personal data with anyone else, and we never use it for marketing lists you didn't ask to join.

How long we keep it

Enquiry messages are kept for up to 24 months from our last contact with you, then deleted, unless we are working together — in which case the data is kept for the duration of the engagement and as required for legal and accounting purposes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal data we hold about you, object to our processing, or ask for a copy in a portable format. Email bala@designstudiolab.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
